Jake Brown

BSc (High Performance Computational Physics) Honours

For the last four years, Jake has worked on the advanced topography and contact lens design software EyeSpace™, the mathematics of contact lens design and simulation, and the associated web applications and cloud computing infrastructure.

Jake's previous research has focused on using High Performance Cloud Computing to improve 3-D inversion calculations for a Geohpysical imaging process known as Magnetotellurics. The goal was to show that tools developed for `Big Data', such as Hadoop, could be used in conjunction with Fortran, for the more computationally intensive problems found in the realm of theoretical physics.
